This liver cake recipe can be used as a treat or as a training treat.
Ingredients for Liver Cake are:
- 1 lb liver (beef, calf, or lamb)
- 1 whole garlic bulb
- 1 teaspoon fresh or dried herbs (parsley, oregano, sage, thyme), finely chopped
- 1 cup of oatmeal
Put all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend until thoroughly mixed. The mixture should be thick and heavy, and not too wet. If it is too wet, add some more oats. Spread into a greased baking pan, to about 1/2″ thickness, and bake in 325 degree oven for about 15 – 20 minutes until it is just crusty on the top, but soft enough to divide into pieces easily. Once cooled, cut or break into pieces about 2″ square. These can be frozen.
